Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and technically competent Assistant Manager – Quality Control to manage day-to-day QC laboratory activities and ensure that raw materials, in-process materials, finished products, and other samples meet defined quality specifications and regulatory requirements.
The candidate will be responsible for laboratory operations, analytical testing, documentation, team handling, investigations, and compliance with GMP/GLP and applicable quality standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Quality Control Operations
- Supervise day-to-day activities of the QC laboratory.
- Ensure timely testing and release of raw materials, packing materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Review analytical test results against approved specifications.
- Ensure proper sampling, testing, and retention of samples.
- Monitor laboratory activities to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance.
2. Analytical Testing
- Perform/review analysis using instruments such as HPLC, GC, UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, FTIR, Karl Fischer, pH Meter, and other laboratory equipment.
- Ensure testing as per approved specifications, STPs, pharmacopoeial methods, and validated analytical procedures.
- Handle chemical and physical testing as applicable to products and raw materials.
3. Documentation & Compliance
- Review and maintain QC records, analytical reports, worksheets, logbooks, COAs, and other laboratory documentation.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, GLP, SOPs, GDP, and data integrity requirements.
- Prepare and review Certificates of Analysis (COA).
- Ensure proper implementation and adherence to laboratory SOPs.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation for audit and regulatory requirements.
4. OOS / OOT / Deviation & CAPA
- Lead or support investigations related to OOS, OOT, deviations, and laboratory incidents.
- Conduct root cause analysis and identify appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure timely implementation and closure of CAPA.
- Participate in change control activities wherever applicable.
5. Instrument & Laboratory Management
- Ensure proper operation, calibration, maintenance, and qualification of QC instruments.
- Monitor calibration schedules and equipment status.
- Ensure availability and proper management of chemicals, reagents, reference standards, and laboratory consumables.
- Maintain laboratory housekeeping and safety standards.
6. Team Handling
- Supervise and guide QC officers, executives, analysts, and laboratory staff.
- Allocate daily testing activities and monitor completion.
- Train team members on analytical procedures, SOPs, GMP, GLP, and safety practices.
- Evaluate team performance and identify training requirements.
7. Audit & Regulatory Support
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Ensure QC documentation and laboratory practices are audit-ready.
- Provide necessary records and technical explanations during audits.
- Implement observations and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
8. Coordination
- Coordinate with Production, QA, R&D, Stores, Engineering, and other departments for quality-related activities.
- Support production teams in resolving quality and analytical issues.
- Ensure timely communication of test results and quality concerns to relevant departments.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
