Purpose of the job:
To research in management, supervise research, and teach and develop material in management science area, with research interests in business/marketing analytics; preferably with the ability to teach postgraduate students.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- To contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate modules through lecturing, tutorials, assessment etc.
- To contribute to the development of the students in the area of research and support them for completion of their internship and project work
- To help develop, where appropriate, revisions to existing modules or new modules, in terms of content, structure, forms of delivery, methods of assessment, etc.
- To develop a research program relevant to the research agenda of the Department
- To undertake any other duties (including administrative and outreach duties) as may be directed by the Head of Department/Principal/Director
- Engage in collaborative work with external organizations
Skills Required:
- Potential to develop a record of publications in high quality, refereed journals;
- Able to pursue their own independent research program;
- Potential to obtain external research funding;
- Potential to develop competence in teaching;
- Willing to develop supervision skills in guiding summer internship programs, project works and placement assistance.
Other Duties as Directed:
Assistant Professors need to perform other responsibilities given by Director based on their skill, competence and training.
Teaching Load:
- The teaching load for assistant professor is 16 hours/week. The workload may be increased if research and scholarship output is not considered to be of an appropriate standard for an assistant professor.
- A relaxation of three hours in the workload may, however, be given to Assistant Professors who are actively involved in extension activities and administration.
Relevant Educational Qualifications:
An Assistant Professor must have
- A minimum of 60% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) shall be required at the Master‘s level for direct recruitment of teachers at any level
- The National Eligibility Test (NET) or an accredited test (State Level Eligibility Test SET/SLET) shall remain the minimum eligibility for appointment of Assistant Professor.
- Provided further, that candidates, who have been awarded Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulation, 2009 or University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree) Regulation, 2016 and their subsequent amendments from time to time as the case may be, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor in Institutions.
