About the Role
Namdeo Umaji Agritech India Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Breeder to lead our Cucumber and Okra breeding programs. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in vegetable breeding, genetics, hybrid development, and product advancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cucumber and okra breeding programs.
- Develop high-yielding, disease-resistant, and market-oriented hybrids.
- Manage germplasm evaluation, parent line development, and hybrid testing.
- Plan, conduct, and monitor multi-location trials.
- Analyze breeding data and prepare technical reports.
- Collaborate with Production, Marketing, and R&D teams for product development and commercialization.
- Guide and mentor breeding staff and field teams.
Required Qualifications
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Plant Breeding, Genetics, Horticulture, Biotechnology, or related Agricultural Sciences.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in vegetable breeding.
Desired Skills
- Strong expertise in vegetable breeding and genetics.
- Experience in cucumber and/or okra breeding.
- Knowledge of hybrid development and product advancement.
- Experience in trial design, data analysis, and germplasm management.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
