The Coating & Painting Incharge is responsible for planning, supervising, and controlling all coating, painting, and surface preparation activities to ensure products meet quality, safety, and customer specifications. The role involves managing manpower, materials, equipment, productivity, and compliance with quality standards.

Supervise daily coating and painting activities to achieve production targets.

Plan and allocate manpower, materials, and equipment efficiently.

Monitor surface preparation processes such as blasting, grinding, cleaning, and pretreatment.

Ensure proper application of primers, intermediate coats, and finishing coats as per specifications.

Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams for smooth workflow.

Maintain painting schedules and ensure on-time completion of jobs.

Ensure coating thickness, adhesion, surface finish, and appearance meet project requirements.

Monitor paint mixing ratios, curing conditions, and application parameters.

Conduct inspections and maintain quality records.

Coordinate with QC inspectors for testing and final acceptance.

Implement corrective actions for coating defects such as runs, blistering, peeling, and uneven thickness.

Enforce safety procedures related to painting operations, chemicals, and equipment.

Ensure proper use of PPE and safe handling of paints, solvents, and hazardous materials.

Maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks for team members.

Lead, train, and motivate painters, blasters, and coating technicians.

Monitor workforce productivity and performance.

Identify skill gaps and arrange training programs.

Maintain discipline and ensure adherence to company policies.

Monitor paint, thinner, abrasive, and consumable inventory levels.

Coordinate with procurement for timely material availability.

Ensure proper storage and handling of coating materials.

Oversee maintenance and calibration of painting equipment, spray guns, compressors, and related tools.

Maintain production reports, inspection records, and material consumption reports.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.

Track productivity, rework, and wastage data.

Ensure proper documentation as per ISO and customer requirements.

Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Production, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

8 years of experience in industrial coating, painting, fabrication, steel structures, oil & gas, manufacturing, or heavy engineering industries.

Knowledge of painting standards, coating systems, and surface preparation techniques.

Familiarity with airless spray painting, blasting operations, and coating inspection procedures.
