Position Summary
SPD Constructions Ltd. is looking for an experienced Finishing Supervisor to supervise and coordinate structural and finishing activities for high-rise building construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that MIVAN shuttering, steel reinforcement, concrete-related activities, and finishing works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, project schedules, and safety requirements.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in high-rise residential/commercial construction, with sound knowledge of MIVAN formwork, reinforcement work, finishing activities, manpower management, material coordination, quality control, and site execution.
Key Responsibilities
MIVAN Shuttering & Structural Works:
- Supervise and monitor MIVAN aluminium formwork/shuttering activities as per approved structural drawings and formwork layouts.
- Ensure proper alignment, level, plumb, dimensions, jointing, supports, ties, and fixing of MIVAN shuttering before concrete pouring.
- Coordinate the installation, shifting, dismantling, cleaning, and re-erection of MIVAN panels as per the construction sequence.
- Ensure proper coordination between shuttering, reinforcement, MEP and embedded works before slab/wall concreting.
- Inspect formwork before concrete pouring and coordinate with the Site Engineer and QA/QC team for necessary approvals.
- Supervise steel reinforcement work, including cutting, bending, fabrication, placing, spacing, lapping, anchoring, and binding of reinforcement bars.
- Ensure reinforcement is executed strictly as per approved structural drawings, bar bending schedules (BBS), and project specifications.
- Check reinforcement cover, spacing, lap length, development length, chair bars, couplers, starter bars, and other reinforcement details.
- Coordinate reinforcement and shuttering activities to ensure timely completion of columns, shear walls, beams, slabs, staircases, and other structural elements.
- Identify and rectify deviations in shuttering and reinforcement before inspection and concreting.
- Coordinate with the QA/QC team for pre-pour inspections and approvals.
Finishing Works
- Supervise and monitor day-to-day finishing activities at the construction site.
- Execute finishing works as per approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedules.
- Supervise activities including:
- Internal and external plastering
- Wall and floor tiling
- Flooring and skirting
- Putty and painting
- False ceiling
- Waterproofing and sealant works
- Doors, windows, and glazing
- Marble and granite works
- Sanitary and architectural finishing works
- Common area and external finishing works
- Ensure finishing works are carried out as per approved samples, mock-ups, specifications, and quality standards.
- Check workmanship, alignment, level, dimensions, surface finish, and detailing.
- Identify defects and ensure timely rectification of snags, punch points, and quality observations.
- Ensure proper protection of completed finishing works to prevent damage during subsequent activities.
Site Coordination & Manpower Management
- Plan and allocate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment according to daily work requirements.
- Supervise labour, subcontractors, and workmen and monitor their productivity.
- Coordinate with Site Engineers, Project Engineers, QA/QC, MEP, Planning, Stores, Safety, and subcontractors for smooth execution.
- Ensure adequate availability of materials at the work location to avoid delays.
- Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage, rework, and material damage.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure activities are completed within the agreed scope, quality, and timelines.
- Maintain proper sequence of structural and finishing activities to meet project milestones.
Quality, Safety & Reporting
- Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Assist the QA/QC team during inspections and ensure timely closure of observations.
- Maintain daily records of manpower deployment, work progress, material requirements, and site activities.
- Support Site Engineers in preparing daily and weekly progress reports.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working conditions at the site.
- Strictly follow company and project-specific HSE requirements.
- Participate in snagging, de-snagging, quality inspections, and final handover activities.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong hands-on knowledge of MIVAN/aluminium formwork and reinforcement work.
- Good knowledge of high-rise building construction and structural execution sequence.
- Strong understanding of reinforcement drawings, BBS, shuttering drawings, and architectural drawings.
- Practical knowledge of finishing and architectural works.
- Ability to manage manpower, subcontractors, and multiple activities simultaneously.
- Good understanding of levels, alignment, dimensions, reinforcement details, and finishing tolerances.
- Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify quality issues and coordinate timely corrective actions.
- Good knowledge of construction safety and housekeeping practices.
- Ability to work under strict project deadlines and manage site-level challenges.
Educational Qualification & Experience
- Diploma / ITI / Graduate in Civil Engineering or relevant technical qualification.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in high-rise building construction.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in MIVAN shuttering, reinforcement work, structural execution, and finishing activities will be preferred.
- Experience in high-rise residential, commercial, or large-scale building projects is desirable.
- Candidates with experience in managing finishing/structural subcontractors and large workforces will have an added advantage.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
