Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Solution Architect with strong Database Administration (DBA) and Data Engineering expertise to lead enterprise cloud modernization and database transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in migrating SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB workloads to Microsoft Azure while designing secure, scalable, and highly available cloud architectures. This role involves defining cloud strategies, architecting modern data platforms, optimizing database performance, and leading end-to-end migration and modernization programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design enterprise-scale Azure cloud architectures for database and data platform modernization.
- Lead database migration projects from SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB to Azure.
- Define migration strategies, assessment plans, and cloud adoption roadmaps.
- Architect highly available, scalable, and disaster-resilient database solutions.
- Design High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) architectures aligned with business continuity objectives.
- Develop cloud-native database architectures using Azure PaaS and IaaS services.
- Design and implement Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines for data migration and integration.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for database deployments and cloud infrastructure.
- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and capacity planning.
- Establish monitoring, backup, recovery, and operational governance strategies.
- Collaborate with application architects, developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams during modernization initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership, architecture governance, and design reviews.
- Ensure cloud security, compliance, identity management, and cost optimization.
- Create architecture documentation, standards, and best practices.
- Mentor technical teams and provide architectural guidance throughout project delivery.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10–15 years of experience in Database Administration, Cloud Architecture, and Data Platform Engineering.
- Strong expertise in migrating enterprise databases to Microsoft Azure.
- Hands-on experience with Azure architecture, Terraform, and CI/CD implementation.
- Deep understanding of HA/DR design, database optimization, and cloud modernization strategies.
- Experience leading enterprise cloud transformation and migration projects.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305).
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300).
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203).
- Experience with enterprise-scale cloud transformation and hybrid cloud environments.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled data platforms, analytics, and modern Lakehouse architectures.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum and DevOps environments.
