Job Summary:
The Heavy Driver is responsible for safely operating heavy vehicles to transport goods, materials, or equipment to designated locations while ensuring timely deliveries, vehicle safety, and compliance with traffic regulations.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy vehicles safely and efficiently as per assigned routes.
- Transport goods, materials, or equipment to customer or project locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Ensure the vehicle is clean, roadworthy, and properly maintained.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain delivery schedules and ensure timely transportation.
- Load and unload materials safely when required.
- Verify delivery documents, invoices, and transport records.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, or maintenance requirements immediately.
- Coordinate with dispatch, logistics, and warehouse teams.
- Monitor fuel consumption and maintain fuel logs.
- Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, and delivery details.
- Ensure the safety and security of cargo during transportation.
- Assist during emergencies or vehicle breakdowns as required.
Required Skills:
- Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License.
- Good knowledge of road safety rules and traffic regulations.
- Ability to drive long distances safely.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Ability to handle transport documentation.
Qualification:
- Minimum 10th/12th Pass (preferred).
- Valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) Driving License.
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
