Roles and Responsibilities of an English Teacher
1. Teaching and Learning
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons according to the curriculum.
- Teach reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, speaking, and listening skills.
- Develop students' communication and language proficiency.
- Use innovative teaching methods and educational technology to enhance learning.
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and effective expression through language activities.
2. Lesson Planning and Curriculum Implementation
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, and teaching materials.
- Complete the syllabus within the prescribed academic schedule.
- Align teaching strategies with learning objectives and student needs.
- Incorporate activity-based and student-centered learning approaches.
3. Student Assessment
- Conduct regular assessments, tests, and assignments.
- Evaluate students' academic performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of marks, attendance, and progress.
- Prepare report cards and progress reports as required by the school.
4. Classroom Management
- Maintain discipline and a positive learning environment.
- Encourage student participation and active engagement.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively and fairly.
- Ensure classroom cleanliness and proper use of learning resources.
5. Student Development
- Identify and support students with learning difficulties.
- Encourage reading habits through stories, novels, and library activities.
- Develop students' confidence in public speaking, presentations, and communication.
- Motivate students to participate in literary activities, competitions, and school events.
6. Parent Communication
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
- Attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Address parent concerns professionally and provide guidance for home support.
7. School Responsibilities
- Participate in school functions, celebrations, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
- Assist in organizing English-related events such as debates, elocution, storytelling, and essay-writing competitions.
- Attend staff meetings, workshops, and training programs.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Principal, Coordinator, or Management.
8. Professional Conduct
- Maintain punctuality, professionalism, and ethical behavior.
- Follow school policies, procedures, and academic standards.
- Continuously update teaching knowledge and skills through professional development.
- Serve as a positive role model for students.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
