Role Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. In this role, you will work directly with inpatient (IP) individuals recovering from neurological conditions (such as stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury) and major orthopedic surgeries/conditions.
You will work under clinical supervision to provide cognitive screenings, emotional support, and psychological guidance to help patients navigate their rehabilitation journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Psychological & Cognitive Screening: Assist in administering basic cognitive, mood, and psychological screenings for neuro and ortho rehab inpatients.
- Patient Support & Counseling: Provide supportive individual counseling, coping techniques, and psychoeducation to help patients handle hospital stays, trauma, adjustment challenges, and chronic pain.
- Family Support: Offer guidance and psychoeducation to family members and caregivers to ensure smooth transition and continuum of care.
- Behavioral Management: Help develop and implement basic behavioral management plans for patients experiencing post-injury behavioral or cognitive changes.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in team meetings with physiatrists, neurologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and nurses to coordinate holistic care.
- Clinical Documentation: Maintain clear, concise, and confidential progress notes and assessment records.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Applied Psychology, or Clinical Psychology from a recognized university.
- Experience: Prior clinical internship or experience in a hospital, inpatient unit, or neurological/orthopedic rehabilitation setting is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong active listening, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of cognitive screening tools and neurological/orthopedic conditions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Pay: From ₹16,000.00 per month
