Electrical Assembly
- Install the complete wiring harness as per electrical drawings and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Install and connect the traction motor, motor controller, Battery Management System (BMS), battery pack, DC-DC converter, on-board charger, and fuse box.
- Install and connect the digital instrument cluster, ignition switch, accelerator pedal sensor, reverse switch, horn, lighting system, and other electrical accessories.
- Secure wiring harnesses using clips and protective sleeves to prevent vibration and abrasion.
- Ensure correct polarity and torque of all electrical terminals.
Electrical Testing & Inspection
- Perform continuity, insulation resistance, and polarity tests before vehicle power-up.
- Verify operation of headlights, indicators, brake lamps, reverse lamp, horn, wiper, hazard lights, cabin accessories, and instrument cluster.
- Check communication between the battery, BMS, controller, and motor (where applicable).
- Conduct charging system verification and battery charging tests.
- Perform pre-delivery electrical inspection (PDI) and support vehicle road testing.
- Record serial numbers of critical electrical components for traceability.
Preventive Maintenance
- Inspect battery packs, wiring harnesses, connectors, and charging systems during scheduled services.
- Check battery health, charging performance, and electrical safety.
- Replace damaged fuses, relays, connectors, switches, and wiring as required.
- Verify operation of all electrical systems before vehicle delivery.
Fault Diagnosis & Repair
- Diagnose electrical faults using multimeters, diagnostic software, and OEM procedures.
- Identify short circuits, open circuits, loose connections, voltage drops, and communication faults.
- Repair or replace controllers, chargers, DC-DC converters, sensors, contactors, and wiring harnesses.
- Assist in battery pack replacement and BMS calibration according to company procedures.
- Update controller firmware or parameters when authorized.
- Conduct post-repair functional and road tests.
Customer Support
- Explain repair work and electrical issues clearly to customers.
- Educate customers on safe charging practices and battery maintenance.
- Provide guidance on proper operation of EV electrical systems.
- Ensure customer satisfaction before vehicle handover.
Daily Duties
- Attend daily production or service briefings.
- Complete assigned work orders within target time.
- Maintain tools and testing equipment in good condition.
- Follow quality control procedures and SOPs.
- Keep the workstation clean and organized using the 5S methodology.
- Report recurring technical issues and improvement suggestions to supervisors.
