About the Role
Nestcon Shelters is looking for a detail-oriented and disciplined Stores Assistant to support store operations and inventory management across project sites. The role involves assisting in material receiving, stock maintenance, issue tracking, documentation, and coordination with site, purchase, and accounts teams to ensure smooth material flow and accurate inventory control.
The ideal candidate should have experience in construction or real estate site stores management with strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
Key Responsibilities1. Inventory & Material Management
● Assist in receiving, unloading, and verifying incoming materials against purchase orders and delivery challans.
● Maintain proper stock records for construction materials, tools, and consumables.
● Ensure proper storage, stacking, and identification of materials within the store area.
● Monitor stock levels and report shortages or excess inventory to the Stores In-Charge.
● Assist in periodic physical stock verification and reconciliation.
2. Material Issue & Documentation
● Issue materials to site teams as per approved material requisition notes (MRNs).
● Maintain inward/outward registers, stock ledgers, and issue records accurately.
● Ensure proper documentation of GRNs, challans, gate passes, and stock movement records.
● Update daily stock and consumption records in ERP or Excel formats.
● Maintain proper filing and documentation for audit purposes.
3. Coordination & Site Support
● Coordinate with purchase, site engineers, and vendors for material movement and availability.
● Support timely dispatch and receipt of materials across project locations.
● Assist in tracking material consumption and reporting discrepancies.
● Coordinate with accounts team for invoice verification and supporting documentation.
4. Housekeeping & Compliance
● Ensure store cleanliness, safety, and organized material stacking.
● Follow inventory control procedures and material handling standards.
● Support implementation of FIFO (First In First Out) practices wherever applicable.
● Ensure safety norms are followed during material handling and storage activities.
