JOB DESCRIPTION:
· Perform and document history & physical examination within 24 hours of patient’s admission to the hospital and Male doctors shall ensure presence of a nurse or female colleague if examining a female patient.
- Formulate differential diagnosis.
- Develops and documents initial plan of care.
- Obtain and document informed consent.
- Order appropriate referrals.
- Order appropriate investigations.
- Interpret hemodynamic parameters in critically ill patients.
- Interpret laboratory & radiology results.
- Order transfusion of blood and blood products.
- Order appropriate medication and other orders.
- Meet the patient and family on arrival to the unit.
- Awareness of infection control protocols.
- · Perform daily rounds with the consultant and write daily progress notes at least once in 24 hours and more frequently if patient condition requires more frequent observations.
- Write all orders in legible writing in the “Physician Order Sheet”, after confirmation with a senior colleague or Consultant.
- Insert peripheral intravenous catheters when required.
- Insert invasive vascular access lines only under supervision.
- Carry out invasive diagnostic procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, liver biopsy, kidney biopsy only upon the directions of the consultant and under strict supervision.
- Take appropriate blood samples in case of difficulty by phlebotomist or nurses.
- Follow up on investigations sent and communicate results to the consultant. Document such communications and the resultant necessary orders.
- Send appropriate referrals and communicate with consultants.
- Ensure completion of patient records at the time of discharge.
- Respond promptly to any nurse’s urgent request for help in caring for any patient.
- Respond promptly to “Code Blue” announcements.
- Prepare discharge summary for patients under their care in time.
- Comply with all Hospital Policies and procedures.
- Participate in the Hospital’s quality improvement plan.
- To carry out pre-operative and post-operative order, consent to be checked for each patient and check concerned consultant has also documented the same.
- Participate in clinical and non-clinical training programs organized by the Department and the Hospital.
- Display professional behavior with patients, colleagues and other Hospital staff.
- Participation in Continuous Quality Improvement.
- To formulate the Process Improvement programs and carry on Quality Initiatives in the department.
- To perform all other jobs as may be assigned due to exigencies of work.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
