Role Overview
The Commis I – Continental is responsible for preparing and cooking continental dishes while maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, and presentation. The role involves independently handling assigned tasks within the section and supporting senior chefs in smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare and cook a variety of continental dishes such as soups, salads, sauces, grills, and main courses.
- Ensure dishes are prepared as per standard recipes, portion control, and presentation guidelines.
- Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and plating.
- Assist in menu execution during service hours.
Kitchen Operations
- Handle assigned tasks within the continental section efficiently.
- Ensure proper mise en place is maintained before service.
- Support Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations.
Quality & Hygiene
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients as per FIFO standards.
- Keep workstations and kitchen equipment clean and organized.
Inventory & Cost Control
- Assist in inventory management, stock rotation, and requisitions.
- Minimize food wastage and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
- Report any shortages or spoilage to senior chefs.
Coordination
- Coordinate with other kitchen sections and service team for smooth operations.
- Follow instructions from senior chefs and ensure timely service.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma / Degree in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts.
- 2–4 years of experience in continental kitchen operations.
- Good knowledge of continental cuisine and cooking techniques.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
