Job Summary
The Stone Manager is responsible for managing all activities related to gemstones handling in the jewellery manufacturing unit. The role includes stone planning, issue and receipt control, inventory management, quality checking, coordination with production teams, and ensuring timely availability of stones for manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Stone Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate records of all precious and semi-precious stones.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure proper inventory control.
- Handle stone issue and return processes for production.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconciliation.
Production Coordination
- Coordinate with CAD, casting, setting, and production departments for stone requirements.
- Ensure timely availability of stones according to production schedules.
- Track stone movement across departments.
Quality Control
- Check stone quality, size, color, matching, and specifications before issuing.
- Ensure damaged or rejected stones are properly documented.
- Maintain quality standards as per company requirements.
Team Management
- Supervise stone department staff and assign daily tasks.
- Monitor employee performance and maintain discipline in the department.
- Train staff on handling, sorting, and inventory procedures.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily records of stone transactions.
- Prepare MIS reports related to stock, consumption, shortages, and wastage.
- Coordinate with accounts and audit teams during stock audits.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure safe handling and secure storage of valuable stones.
- Follow company SOPs and security procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and accountability of inventory.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of gemstones, and jewellery manufacturing processes.
- Good inventory and stock management skills.
- Knowledge of Excel & Google Sheet
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
Educational Qualification
Experience
- 2-5 years of experience in stone management within a jewellery manufacturing unit.
Working Conditions
- Factory/manufacturing environment.
Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month
