Role Description:
The Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth and market development of diesel generator (DG) sets across Kerala, handling multiple brands including Baudouin, Tata Genset, and Escorts Gensets.
The role requires a highly motivated professional with strong industry knowledge, capable of managing both B2B and B2C sales channels, developing key accounts, and leading a results-driven sales approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve monthly and annual targets across Kerala
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in segments such as:
- Construction & infrastructure
- Commercial buildings & real estate
- Hospitals, hotels, and institutions
- Industrial and SME sectors
- Manage and expand dealer/distributor networks across key districts
- Build strong relationships with consultants, contractors, MEP consultants, and architects
- Handle key accounts and institutional sales including tenders and large projects
- Provide techno-commercial support and product positioning against competitors
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies
- Ensure timely collection of payments and maintain healthy receivables
- Coordinate with service and operations teams to ensure customer satisfaction and after-sales support
- Prepare and present regular sales reports (daily, weekly, monthly) to management
- Lead, mentor, and monitor field sales executives (if applicable)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical preferred) or Business Administration
- MBA in Sales/Marketing will be an added advantage
- Strong understanding of diesel engines, gensets, and power solutions is preferred
Experience / Industry:
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in DG set / engine / power equipment sales
- Proven track record in handling multi-brand or OEM-driven sales environments
- Experience in companies dealing with diesel engines, gensets, compressors, or construction equipment
- Strong network within Kerala market including consultants, contractors, and industrial clients
- Experience in handling government and private tenders is desirable
