Job Title: Tendering, Estimation & Costing Engineer — Electrical/LED Lighting

Role Summary
Prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates, tender submissions and commercial documentation for LED lighting projects (street lights, mini‑mast, high‑mast, exterior/interior installations) and support e‑tendering, prequalification and product empanelment activities for UBITTER TECHNOLOGIES.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, specifications, drawings and site data for LED lighting projects (street lights, mini‑mast, high‑mast, exterior/interior).
- Prepare detailed quantity take‑offs, bills of materials (BOM), wiring and mounting accessories lists, cable schedules, civil/structural works items and labor productivity estimates.
- Build complete cost estimates including material, LED luminaire pricing, drivers, poles/masts, mounting hardware, civil works, cable, installation labor, testing, transport, taxes, duties, overheads and contingencies.
- Develop and maintain unit rates, pricing models, historical cost database and approved vendor/subcontractor price lists for LED components and installation services.
- Source, evaluate and negotiate vendor and subcontractor quotations; manage comparative cost analyses.
- Prepare and submit commercial tender documents for both e‑tenders (portal submissions) and manual tenders: price schedules, commercial terms, assumptions, exclusions, bill of quantities and supporting documents.
- Perform pre‑qualification assessments of e‑tenders and prepare bid/no‑bid recommendations.
- Manage e‑tendering activities on government/portal sites (uploading documents, responding to queries, addenda) and track submission deadlines.
- Prepare documentation for product empanelment, technical datasheets, certifications, samples and compliance records required by clients/government agencies.
- Perform risk analysis, margin sensitivity, and propose value engineering or cost‑saving options without compromising performance.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, procurement, quality and legal teams to validate technical specs, lead times and warranty/commercial terms.
- Support commercial negotiations, contract clarifications and handover estimate/baseline to projects after award.
- Maintain accurate records of tenders, wins/losses, lessons learned and continuous improvement of estimating templates/processes.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering.
- 2–5 years’ experience in tendering/estimating for electrical/lighting projects; specific experience in LED lighting (street/high‑mast/ exterior/interior) preferred.
- Hands‑on experience with government e‑tender portals and manual tender submission processes.
Technical Skills
- Strong quantity takeoff, BOQ and unit‑rate development skills for lighting and civil works.
- Proficient in MS Excel (advanced), experience with takeoff/estimating tools (CostX, Bluebeam, PriMus or similar) is desirable.
- Familiarity with LED product specifications, photometric basics, IP/IK ratings, drivers, and relevant standards.
- Knowledge of procurement, vendor evaluation, taxes, duties and statutory requirements for government tenders.
- Basic commercial/financial understanding: margin, overhead allocation, contingency calculation.
- Behavioral & Interpersonal Skills
- Excellent numerical accuracy, analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication; able to draft clear tender submissions and clarifications.
- Strong organization, time management and ability to meet tight bid deadlines.
- Negotiation skills and vendor management orientation.
- Team player; able to coordinate cross‑functional inputs.

- Familiarity with product empanelment processes for government/state agencies.
- Certification in Quantity Surveying, Estimating or Project Management (advantage).
- Experience with ERP/contract management systems.
KPIs
- Tender submission timeliness and compliance rate.
- Bid win‑rate and hit‑rate on LED lighting tenders.
- Accuracy of estimates vs. actual project costs (variance%).
- Number of successful products empanelments and approved vendor partnerships.
