The Sleep Study Technician will be responsible for conducting polysomnographic and sleep studies under the direction of a physician. The role involves preparing patients for sleep studies, monitoring and recording sleep data, and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients throughout the procedure. The technician will also assist in diagnosing sleep disorders by analyzing data collected during sleep studies and providing relevant reports to medical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for sleep studies, including explaining the procedure and answering any questions.
- Set up and calibrate equipment used for sleep studies, ensuring all devices are functioning correctly.
- Monitor patients during sleep studies to ensure their safety and comfort, making necessary adjustments to equipment as needed.
- Record and analyze sleep data, including brain waves, oxygen levels, heart rate, and other vital signs.
- Provide immediate feedback to physicians and prepare comprehensive reports on patients' conditions and sleep patterns.
- Maintain and troubleshoot sleep study equipment, carrying out regular maintenance checks.
- Adhere to all safety and regulatory standards in conducting sleep studies.
- Stay updated with advancements in sleep technology and practices for optimal patient care.
