Role: Surveyor
Objective: To carry out accurate land surveying, setting out, levelling, and quantity measurement at project sites — ensuring all works are executed as per approved drawings, benchmarks, and project specifications.
Context: The Surveyor will be deployed at HDG project sites and will work closely with the Site Engineer, Project Manager, and Billing team. The role involves survey and setting out of civil works, infrastructure projects, and government contracts across multiple locations. Accurate survey data and measurement records are critical for HDG's billing, quality control, and project execution standards.
Key Responsibilities: Carry out site surveys, setting out, and levelling using total station, auto level, and GPS instruments. Establish and maintain site benchmarks, control points, and grid lines as per project drawings. Prepare and verify cross-sections, longitudinal sections, and contour plans. Assist in joint measurement of works with client representatives and PMC for billing purposes. Maintain survey field books, measurement records, and as-built data accurately.
Additional Responsibilities: Coordinate with the billing team to provide verified quantities for RA bill preparation. Carry out volume calculations for earthwork — excavation, filling, and disposal. Verify setting out of structures, roads, drains, and underground utilities at site. Prepare and submit survey reports, plans, and drawings to the Project Manager regularly. Assist in preparation of as-built drawings upon completion of works. Support quality checks through accurate dimensional verification of completed works. Liaise with client survey teams for joint verification and acceptance of measurements.
Technical & Functional Tasks: Proficient in operating total station, auto level, dumpy level, and GPS/DGPS equipment. Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, contour maps, alignment plans, and cross-sections. Proficient in AutoCAD for drafting survey plans, cross-sections, and setting out drawings. Knowledge of volume calculation methods — mean area, prismoidal — for earthwork billing. Familiar with MS Office and Google Sheets for data recording, reporting, and MIS.
Notes: Education: Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering; or ITI/Certificate in Surveying with relevant experience. Candidates with experience on road, infrastructure, or government project surveys preferred. Must be willing to relocate to assigned project location — Gurugram, Leh, or NCR. Proficiency with total station and AutoCAD is mandatory. Experience working with CPWD, PWD, or government project teams is an added advantage.
