Position Overview
The candidate’s primary responsibilities will be to perform accounting activities for the Ralph Lauren fixed asset portfolio across EMEA and various channels (Wholesale, Retail, Corporate) and ensure accurate accounting following the US and local GAAP rules. The candidate will also be responsible for supporting month end close; the quarterly/yearly audits.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Support the creation of capital projects in the system, Master data validation
Validate buyer’s purchase order against appropriate capital project
Collect signed agreements and opening reports
Maintain a project database with openings and closures
Reconcile all wholesale projects with support of business partners
Raise client contribution invoice to RL business partners
Review and analyze asset under construction account across multiple entities
Monthly update the asset sub-ledger system
Month-end close tasks (GL entries, reconciliation, P&L and balance sheet review)
Prepare and submit to the business the quarterly the EMEA Wholesale portfolio analysis
Provide support with preparation of Asset Reporting (Forecast, Asset roll forward)
Provide support with internal and external Audit requests (US GAAP, statutory audits, SOX controls)
Provide support in the preparation of the yearly Asset roll forward across EMEA (US GAAP & Local GAAP)
Contribute to Ad Hoc projects related to business decisions (System testing; analysis)
Experience, Skills, and Knowledge
Finance or Accounting education / certification
Previous accounting experience, Fixed Asset accounting experience a plus
Systems knowledge: Fixed asset module, Projects management system – SAP knowledge is a plus
High level of proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English required.
Advanced experience in Excel
Analytical and detail oriented
Provides high degree of professional customer service to both internal and external parties.
