About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Banking & Finance professional to manage the company's complete banking operations and financial coordination with banks and financial institutions.
The candidate will be responsible for handling Letters of Credit (LC), Bank Guarantees (BG), loans and financing, banking transactions, documentation, bank reconciliations, fund management, and day-to-day coordination with banks.
The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of corporate banking processes and be capable of independently handling banking-related documentation, compliance, negotiations, and follow-ups with multiple banks.
Key Responsibilities1. Banking Operations
- Handle day-to-day banking operations of the company.
- Coordinate with banks for all operational and financial requirements.
- Manage current accounts, cash credit, overdraft, term loans, and other banking facilities.
- Coordinate account opening, modification, closure, KYC, and other banking documentation.
- Monitor bank transactions, charges, interest, and other banking-related expenses.
- Coordinate with banks for fund transfers, RTGS/NEFT, cheque-related matters, and other transactions.
- Resolve banking issues and ensure smooth banking operations.
2. Letter of Credit (LC)
- Handle complete Letter of Credit (LC) processes from issuance to closure.
- Coordinate with banks for LC opening, amendments, negotiation, acceptance, and retirement.
- Review LC terms and conditions and coordinate with internal teams for compliance.
- Coordinate with customers, suppliers, banks, and logistics teams regarding LC documentation.
- Ensure timely submission and verification of LC-related documents.
- Track LC limits, outstanding LCs, expiry dates, and related charges.
- Coordinate with banks regarding import/export LC requirements, wherever applicable.
3. Bank Guarantee (BG)
- Manage the complete Bank Guarantee process.
- Coordinate for issuance, amendment, extension, cancellation, and release of BGs.
- Maintain records of all active and expired bank guarantees.
- Monitor BG expiry dates and ensure timely renewal/extension.
- Coordinate with customers, vendors, banks, and internal departments for BG requirements.
- Review BG terms and ensure proper documentation and approvals.
4. Loan & Finance Management
- Coordinate with banks for business loans, working capital facilities, term loans, CC/OD limits, and other financial facilities.
- Handle loan application and documentation processes.
- Coordinate with banks for sanction, disbursement, renewal, enhancement, restructuring, and closure of loans.
- Prepare and provide financial documents required by banks.
- Maintain records of loan agreements, sanction letters, repayment schedules, and security documents.
- Monitor principal and interest payments and ensure timely servicing of loans.
- Coordinate with banks for interest-rate negotiations and facility renewals.
- Monitor utilization of sanctioned banking limits.
5. Working Capital & Fund Management
- Monitor daily cash flow and banking position.
- Track available bank limits and fund utilization.
- Coordinate fund requirements with the Accounts & Finance team.
- Monitor CC/OD utilization and interest costs.
- Prepare daily/weekly bank position reports.
- Support management in optimizing working capital and financing costs.
6. Bank Reconciliation & Accounting Coordination
- Coordinate with the Accounts team for timely Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS).
- Verify bank statements and identify discrepancies.
- Monitor bank charges, interest debits, and other deductions.
- Ensure proper accounting of banking transactions.
- Coordinate with auditors for bank-related confirmations and documentation.
7. Bank Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain complete records of all banking agreements, facility documents, LC/BG documents, loan documents, and correspondence.
- Ensure timely submission of KYC and other regulatory documents.
- Coordinate with banks for periodic documentation and compliance requirements.
- Maintain records of collateral, securities, mortgages, lien, and other banking arrangements.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors, consultants, and banks wherever required.
8. Export / Import Banking Operations
- Handle banking documentation related to international trade, wherever applicable.
- Coordinate with banks for export/import transactions.
- Handle documentation related to LC, bills, shipping documents, inward/outward remittances, and trade finance.
- Coordinate with banks for foreign currency transactions and related documentation.
- Ensure timely follow-up on export/import payment realization and related banking requirements.
9. Bank Relationship Management
- Maintain professional relationships with relationship managers and key banking officials.
- Coordinate with multiple banks for banking facilities and operational requirements.
- Negotiate banking charges, interest rates, processing fees, and other applicable costs wherever possible.
- Evaluate banking services and support management in selecting suitable banking facilities.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the company and banks for banking-related matters.
10. MIS & Reporting
Prepare and maintain regular reports covering:
- Bank balances and daily bank position
- CC/OD utilization
- Loan outstanding and repayment schedules
- LC outstanding and expiry dates
- BG outstanding and expiry dates
- Interest and bank charges
- Working capital limits
- Fund utilization
- Banking facility status
- Upcoming renewals and financial obligations
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- CA Inter / MBA Finance / M.Com will be an added advantage.
- 4–8 years of relevant experience in Banking & Finance, Corporate Banking, Treasury, or Accounts & Finance.
- Strong practical experience in LC, BG, loans, CC/OD, working capital, and banking operations.
- Experience in dealing directly with banks and financial institutions is essential.
- Strong understanding of corporate banking documentation and processes.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and accounting/ERP software.
- Strong communication, negotiation, follow-up, and documentation skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple banking activities and deadlines.
Preferred Experience
Candidates from manufacturing, jewellery, export/import, trading, or other banking-intensive businesses will be preferred.
