Application Engineer - FEA - Bangalore
Role Summary
We are looking for a motivated Application Engineer – Post Sales to support customers in applying ANSYS Mechanical for real-world engineering problems. The role involves technical support, problem setup, validation, training assistance, and workflow automation, working closely with sales, presales, and customer engineering teams.
This position is ideal for fresh graduates or engineers with up to 1 year of experience who want hands-on exposure to industrial FEA applications.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Implementation

Provide post-sales technical support to customers using ANSYS Mechanical

Assist customers in:

Geometry cleanup and idealization
-
Meshing strategies
-
Material modelling
-
Load and boundary condition application
-
Solver selection and convergence troubleshooting
-
Support static structural, modal, harmonic, and basic nonlinear analyses
Customer Engagement
-
Understand customer problem statements and convert them into simulation workflows
-
Validate results and explain engineering relevance of outputs (stress, deformation, life, etc.)
-
Support customers during POC, pilot projects, and initial deployment
Automation & Scripting
-
Use ANSYS APDL for:

Parametric modelling
-
Load automation
-
Result extraction
-
Use Python for:
-
Pre/post-processing automation
-
Data extraction and reporting
-
Workflow efficiency improvements
Documentation & Training

Prepare technical notes, solution documents, and best-practice guidelines
-
Assist in customer training sessions, workshops, and internal knowledge sharing

Create repeatable application templates for common industry use cases
Internal Collaboration

Work closely with:

Sales & Presales teams for technical clarifications

Senior Application Engineers for complex cases

Provide structured feedback from customer use cases to improve solution offerings
Required Skills & Qualifications
Educational Qualification

B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech in:

Mechanical Engineering
-
Aerospace Engineering
-
Automotive or related discipline
Technical Skills (Mandatory)

Strong fundamentals of:

Engineering mechanics

Strength of materials

Basic finite element theory

Hands-on experience with:

ANSYS Mechanical (Workbench)

APDL (basic to intermediate level)
