Role description
We are looking for a skilled Functional & Automation Test Engineer with strong experience in software testing methodologies and automation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Playwright with TypeScript, web UI automation, API automation, and test automation framework design.
The candidate should be able to independently understand business requirements, design comprehensive test scenarios, develop maintainable automation solutions, and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test processes, and QA best practices.
- Analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios and test cases.
- Design and execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test cases.
- Identify, document, track, and validate defects through to resolution.
- Perform root-cause analysis and collaborate with development and product teams to resolve issues.
- Ensure adequate test coverage across functional and business-critical scenarios.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright using TypeScript.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts for web-based applications.
- Experience with API automation and REST API testing.
- Design robust, scalable, reusable, and maintainable automation frameworks.
- Apply appropriate test automation framework design patterns and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with the Page Object Model (POM).
- Experience implementing data-driven testing frameworks.
- Develop reusable utilities, fixtures, test data management, and common automation components.
- Maintain and enhance existing automation suites and improve test execution efficiency.
- Good understanding of Azure DevOps or equivalent CI/CD platforms.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Configure automated test execution as part of build and deployment processes.
- Analyze pipeline failures and troubleshoot automation issues.
- Understand source control and branching practices relevant to test automation.
