Audit Associate – Experienced
About the Role
Burmawalla And Associates is looking for experienced Audit Associates to join our audit and assurance team. The role involves handling a diverse range of assignments, with significant exposure to Statutory Audit, Internal Audit and other professional assignments undertaken by a Chartered Accountancy firm.
The candidate will have the opportunity to work on assignments across various industries, including listed and professionally managed clients, and gain practical exposure to audit planning, execution, financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Statutory Audits under applicable laws, auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
- Execute Internal Audits and review internal controls, processes and systems.
- Plan and perform audit procedures, including substantive testing and analytical procedures.
- Review financial statements, books of accounts, ledgers, schedules and supporting documents.
- Identify audit observations, control weaknesses, accounting issues and areas of financial risk.
- Prepare and maintain audit working papers and documentation.
- Assist in finalisation of accounts and financial statements.
- Handle routine CA firm assignments, including accounting, taxation, compliance and other professional assignments as required.
- Coordinate with clients for obtaining information, explanations and supporting documentation.
- Participate in audits of listed companies and other significant corporate clients.
- Ensure assignments are completed within prescribed timelines and maintain professional standards.
Experience Required
- Prior experience in Audit is mandatory.
- Candidates should have practical experience in Statutory Audit and/or Internal Audit.
- Experience in handling corporate clients will be preferred.
- Exposure to listed companies / listed clients will be an added advantage.
- Candidates should be comfortable working with financial statements, accounting records and audit documentation.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting and auditing principles is essential.
Candidate Profile

- Capable of working under deadlines and managing multiple assignments.
- Willing to learn and take responsibility for assignments from planning through completion.
- Proficient in MS Excel and other standard accounting/audit tools.
