Job Summary
The Driver will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of company goods, documents, employees, and other assigned materials. The role requires responsible vehicle handling, route discipline, proper documentation, and coordination with the concerned departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive company vehicles safely and responsibly according to traffic rules and company policies.
- Transport goods, materials, documents, and employees as instructed by the reporting manager.
- Ensure timely departure and arrival according to the assigned route and schedule.
- Conduct basic daily checks of the vehicle, including fuel, tyres, brakes, lights, oil, and other essential components.
- Maintain the cleanliness and overall condition of the assigned vehicle.
- Ensure proper loading and unloading of goods and take reasonable care to prevent damage during transportation.
- Verify delivery documents, invoices, challans, and other relevant documents when required.
- Obtain necessary signatures, seals, and acknowledgements during deliveries.
- Immediately report vehicle breakdowns, accidents, damages, or maintenance requirements to the reporting manager.
- Maintain accurate records of fuel usage, kilometres, trips, and other vehicle-related expenses.
- Follow the assigned route and report any unnecessary delays or deviations.
- Assist the Store / Logistics team during loading, unloading, and delivery activities when required.
- Maintain professional and courteous behaviour with customers, suppliers, employees, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure all vehicle documents, including insurance, permit, registration, pollution certificate, and driving licence, are valid and available.
- Follow all company safety procedures and instructions.
- Perform any other duties related to transportation and logistics assigned by the management.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Valid driving licence for the required vehicle category.
- Good knowledge of local routes and roads.
- Safe and defensive driving skills.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Good time-management and punctuality.
- Ability to handle goods carefully and responsibly.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and company procedures.
- Responsible, disciplined, and trustworthy attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time-sensitive deliveries.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
