A NISM Category III qualified professional is certified to work with Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) that employ complex strategies such as hedge funds, derivatives trading, and arbitrage. SEBI mandates this qualification for fund managers and key investment team members of Category III AIFs.
Core Roles
- Fund Management Design and execute investment strategies including long-short equity, derivatives, and arbitrage.
- Portfolio Oversight Monitor fund performance, rebalance portfolios, and manage risk exposures.
- Compliance & Governance Ensure adherence to SEBI’s AIF regulations, reporting standards, and investor protection norms.
- Client & Investor Relations Communicate fund strategies, performance updates, and disclosures to investors.
- Risk Management Identify, measure, and mitigate risks associated with leveraged and complex trading strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain SEBI registration and certification validity.
- Ethical Conduct: Avoid conflicts of interest, insider trading, and misrepresentation.
- Strategic Execution: Implement advanced trading strategies while balancing risk-return.
- Reporting & Transparency: Provide accurate disclosures to investors and regulators.
- Continuous Learning: Renew certification every 3 years and stay updated on evolving AIF regulations.
Required Skills:
