Position Objective
The Solar Design Engineer – Electrical shall be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and
coordinating electrical design deliverables for solar EPC projects. The position requires strong
command over design software, EPC procedures, and electrical system engineering.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent shall prepare electrical designs, layouts, and technical documentation for solar
power plants and related systems. Responsibilities shall include preparation of Single Line
Diagrams, cable sizing, equipment selection, protection schemes, earthing arrangements, and grid
connectivity drawings. The incumbent shall use PVsyst, Helios, or equivalent solar design
software for system simulation and energy estimation, and shall prepare drawings and layouts
using AutoCAD. The role shall also include support in BOQ preparation, technical submittals,
vendor evaluation, compliance verification, and execution support during project implementation.
The design output must conform to applicable electrical standards, EPC practices, utility
requirements, and project-specific technical specifications.
Educational Qualification
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely allied discipline shall be required.
Additional training or certification in solar PV design shall be considered an advantage.
Minimum Experience
A minimum of 2 to 6 years of relevant experience in electrical design, solar engineering, or EPC
design shall be required. Prior experience in MW-scale solar projects shall be preferred.
Required Knowledge and Competencies
The incumbent shall have working knowledge of PVsyst, Helios, or equivalent software, AutoCAD,
SLD development, and electrical design procedures. The candidate shall demonstrate strong
understanding of solar plant electrical systems, inverters, transformers, switchgear, protection
systems, and grid interconnection principles.
Performance Expectations
The incumbent shall deliver accurate and execution-ready electrical designs, timely technical
documentation, and effective support to procurement and project teams.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
