The Accessibility Tester is responsible for ensuring that enterprise applications, platforms, and digital products meet accessibility standards and regulatory requirements. This role serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for accessibility testing, supporting product teams throughout the SDLC while advancing inclusive design and delivery practices. The position partners closely with SQA engineers, automation architects, product teams, UX designers, and compliance stakeholders to ensure conformance with WCAG, ADA, Section 508, EAA, and related standards.
The Accessibility Tester operates, contributes to strategy and standards, and drives continuous improvement in accessibility testing processes, tooling, and reporting.
- Conduct comprehensive manual accessibility testing across web, mobile, and enterprise applications in accordance with WCAG 2.2 AA, Section 508, ADA, and EAA requirements

Perform assistive technology testing using screen readers (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver), keyboard-only navigation, screen magnifiers, and accessibility settings

Validate accessibility for complex user journeys, workflows, and integrated systems

Identify, document, and clearly communicate accessibility defects with actionable remediation guidance

Embed accessibility validation into all phases of the SDLC (requirements, design, development, testing, release)

Review product requirements, UX designs, and wireframes for accessibility risks and gaps

Partner with development and UX teams to recommend accessible design patterns and implementations

Participate in sprint ceremonies, release readiness activities, and defect triage

Support and influence accessibility automation strategy, including the use of tools such as Axe, Lighthouse, ANDI, Accessibility Insights, or equivalent

Collaborate with automation engineers to integrate accessibility checks into CI/CD pipelines where appropriate

Evaluate emerging tools and AI‑assisted accessibility testing capabilities

Produce clear, traceable accessibility test reports aligned with audit and compliance needs (e.g., VPAT/ACR support)

Support internal and external accessibility assessments, audits, and regulatory inquiries

Track accessibility metrics and trends to inform leadership and risk management decisions

Act as an accessibility SME within SQA and the broader technology organization

Contribute to the development of accessibility standards, test strategies, and guidance documents

Mentor junior testers and provide knowledge sharing across teams

Advocate for inclusive design and sustainable accessibility practices at scale
Experience and Skills:-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human Computer Interaction, or equivalent experience

5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with strong specialization in accessibility testing

Demonstrated hands-on experience testing against WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA criteria

Proficiency with assistive technologies (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, keyboard-only testing)

Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, ARIA, and common accessibility failure patterns

Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments

Excellent defect analysis, documentation, and communication skills

Expert knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA and applicable accessibility regulations (ADA, Section 508, EAA)

Advanced manual accessibility testing skills across web and mobile applications

Proficient with assistive technologies (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, keyboard navigation, screen magnifiers)

Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, ARIA, and accessibility failure remediation patterns

Experience using accessibility testing tools and supporting accessibility automation efforts

Strong defect analysis, documentation, and audit‑ready reporting skills

Ability to provide consultative guidance to development and UX teams

Operates independently as an accessibility SME; mentors junior testers as needed

- The base salary range advertised represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
