Position: Personal Mathematics Tutor
Grade: Grade 7

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Personal Mathematics Tutor to provide one-on-one academic support to a Grade 7 student following the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum.
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of IB Mathematics and Middle Years Programme (MYP) learning approaches and be able to make mathematics engaging, practical, and concept-driven.
The tutor will be responsible for strengthening the student's mathematical foundation, improving problem-solving abilities, supporting school curriculum requirements, and preparing the student to approach assessments with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalized one-on-one Mathematics tutoring for a Grade 7 IB student.
- Follow and align lessons with the student's IB/MYP Mathematics curriculum and school requirements.
- Explain mathematical concepts using clear, practical, and engaging methods.
- Strengthen conceptual understanding rather than relying solely on memorization.
- Support the student with:
- Algebra
- Number systems
- Fractions, decimals and percentages
- Ratios and proportions
- Geometry and measurement
- Data handling and statistics
- Patterns and relationships
- Problem-solving and mathematical reasoning
- Assist with homework, assignments, projects, classwork, and exam preparation.
- Develop customized lesson plans based on the student's academic strengths and areas requiring improvement.
- Encourage logical reasoning, critical thinking, and independent problem-solving.
- Use real-life examples and inquiry-based activities wherever appropriate.
- Track the student's progress and provide regular feedback to parents/guardians.
- Identify learning gaps and develop appropriate strategies to address them.
- Prepare the student for school assessments and IB-style mathematical tasks.
- Coordinate with parents and, where required, the student's school/teachers to understand academic expectations.
Required Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Prior experience teaching/tutoring Grade 6–8 Mathematics.
- Experience with the IB curriculum, particularly IB MYP Mathematics, is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with students from international schools will be an advantage.
- Strong conceptual understanding of Mathematics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods according to the student's learning style.
- Patient, encouraging, and approachable teaching style.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who can go beyond simply helping the student complete homework and can build genuine mathematical understanding, confidence, curiosity, and independent problem-solving skills.
Candidates with proven experience teaching IB Grade 7/MYP Mathematics will be given preference.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
