Job Purpose
To lead and manage the technical operations of a NABL-accredited food testing laboratory, ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, regulatory standards, and customer expectations while maintaining technical competence, quality, and reliability of test results.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Management
- Act as the technical authority for all food testing activities.
- Ensure compliance with NABL accreditation requirements and ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
- Approve testing methods, SOPs, work instructions, and technical reports.
- Review and authorize test results and reports as Authorized Signatory (if applicable).
- Oversee method validation, verification, and measurement uncertainty studies.
Laboratory Operations
- Supervise daily laboratory activities including chemical, microbiological, and residue testing.
- Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Monitor sample handling, testing, reporting, and record retention.
- Ensure calibration and preventive maintenance of instruments.
Quality & Compliance
- Maintain and improve the Laboratory Quality Management System (QMS).
- Lead NABL assessments, surveillance audits, and customer audits.
- Investigate non-conformities and implement CAPA.
- Coordinate proficiency testing (PT) and inter-laboratory comparison (ILC) programs.
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI, APEDA, EIC, and other regulatory requirements where applicable.
Team Leadership
- Train, mentor, and evaluate laboratory personnel.
- Assess staff competency and authorize technical personnel.
- Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Client & Regulatory Interface
- Handle technical discussions with customers, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
- Support business development through technical expertise and scope expansion.
- Respond to technical complaints and customer queries.
Required Qualifications
- M.Sc. in Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related science discipline.
- Additional training in ISO/IEC 17025, Internal Auditing, Method Validation, and NABL requirements preferred.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in a NABL-accredited food testing laboratory.
- Minimum 1–2 years in a leadership or technical management role.
- Experience as Authorized Signatory preferred.
- Strong exposure to NABL assessments and audit management.
Key Skills
- NABL ISO/IEC 17025 implementation and compliance.
- Method validation and verification.
- Internal audits, CAPA, and risk management.
- Food chemistry and microbiology testing.
- Instrumentation knowledge (HPLC, GC-MS/MS, LC-MS/MS, ICP-MS, UV-Vis, etc.).
- Team leadership and technical training.
- Documentation and report review.

- Successful maintenance of NABL accreditation.
- Zero major non-conformities during audits.
- Timely release of accurate test reports.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
