We are on a mission to reinvent how designers work in the AI era.
We’re backed by top investors, including First Round, Chemistry, Homebrew, and Scribble, as well as senior leaders from OpenAI, Meta, Google, Ramp, Stripe, and more. We’re building the next-generation AI design tool for product teams.
We're hiring a Staff Full-Stack Frontend Engineer to take direct, hands-on ownership of some of the hardest problems in our frontend: canvas rendering, state and data flow for long-lived sessions, real-time collaboration, and the extensibility surfaces that let our product behave like code. You'll work closely with our CTO and the rest of the engineering team, helping shape shared patterns while primarily building and shipping critical systems yourself.
This is an individual-contributor (IC) role for someone who wants to stay deeply hands-on. The role includes making meaningful contributions to architecture, making judgment calls that other engineers rely on, and raising the bar through your code.
Design, build, and ship complex frontend systems end-to-end, including canvas rendering, state management, real-time collaboration, and supporting infrastructure.
Own key frontend domains, including module boundaries, data flow, rendering performance, and memory behavior for large, long-lived sessions.
Contribute to architecture decisions and RFCs, then take primary ownership of implementation in your areas.
Write high-quality, well-tested, observable code, and help establish practical testing and harden the architecture against recurrence.
Diagnose complex production issues, fix root causes, and strengthen systems against recurrence.
Lead incremental migrations of legacy patterns without slowing feature delivery.
Mentor senior engineers through code review, pairing, and design discussions, and help raise the overall quality bar for the team.
Partner with Product, Design, and Backend to turn ambiguous product problems into sound technical solutions.
7+ years of experience building large-scale production web applications, including recent hands-on work at Staff or Lead scope, or clear evidence that you're ready to operate at that level.
Deep, demonstrable mastery of React and TypeScript/Javascript, evidenced by systems you personally designed and built, not just architecture documents.
A track record of owning complex, stateful frontend systems end-to-end: from technical design through implementation, rollout, and iteration.
Strong judgment on state and data flow, rendering behavior, performance, memory, testing, and backend/API contracts.
Comfort operating with real ambiguity, making pragmatic tradeoffs, and defending decisions with evidence rather than authority.
Clear written and verbal communication: you can explain a technical decision to both an engineer and a non-technical stakeholder.
Low ego, high ownership, and a genuine interest in making the engineers around you better through review and mentorship.
A degree or certification is not required; we care more about what you've built and owned.
Experience with complex editors, canvases, IDEs, workflow builders, data visualization tools, or other deeply stateful UIs.
Hands-on experience with real-time collaboration and WebSockets.
Experience building or contributing to plugin or extensibility systems.
Experience owning a frontend platform or leading large-scale frontend migrations.
Experience contributing to RFCs or architecture-review processes.
Startup experience or comfort with startup pace and ambiguity.
Base Salary: Above market; among the top ~1% of Bengaluru compensation bands
Equity: Meaningful stock options
Health Insurance: Best-in-class coverage for the employee and their entire family
Location: Bengaluru
Work Style: In-office, full-time. We're a small, high-ownership team, and we expect the people who join us to be comfortable with ambiguity, direct feedback, and moving fast without losing rigor.
This is an individual-contributor track. As you take on broader system ownership and demonstrate strong technical judgment over time, this role can grow toward Principal or Frontend Architect scope, shaping platform direction and raising the engineering bar across teams without moving into people management.
