Objectives of Position:
Faculty Marine Engineering is responsible for timely completion of course curriculum, and cadet related affairs
Relationship:
Reports to Dean Marine Engineering
Responsibilities:
Providing hands-on training, conducting regular classes, and sharing practical experience with GME, B. Tech (Marine Engineering), and DNS cadets.
Conducting various post-sea courses scheduled by SIMS.
Taking charge of Ship-in-campus and marine Workshop department - Technical as well as administrative aspects.
Supervising routine maintenance and upkeep of equipment and machineries related to SIC/Marine workshop.
Supervising commissioning of various marine and workshop equipment and systems, repairing, commissioning, and testing for functional aspects.
Supervising preventive and breakdown maintenance of equipment which includes defect analysis, troubleshooting, and quality control check of various machineries.
Coordinating with store and purchase departments for various requirements.
Liaising with various establishments.
Guiding and leading juniors and subordinates for enhancing working capacity and personal ability.
Assisting the R&D team to complete assigned projects.
Taking part in administration and management review programs, solving case studies, and providing suggestions.
Qualification Required:
Certificate of Competency holder issued by Government of India (or other administration recognized by the Govt. of India) as MEO Class I
DCE (Oil, Gas, Chemical) preferred
Teaching Experienced preferred
