Quanto Agroworld Limited is an integrated agri-processing company engaged in the cultivation, processing and value creation of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, essential oils and allied agri-based products.
The company operates across farm development, crop cultivation, harvesting, biomass management, distillation and agri-processing. As we expand our operations at Ravalgaon, we are looking for a practical and field-oriented Agronomist who can help improve crop performance, farm discipline, soil health and overall agricultural productivity.
Role Overview
The Agronomist will be responsible for supervising and improving crop cultivation practices at the company’s farms in and around Ravalgaon.
The role requires someone who understands agriculture not only theoretically, but also practically. The candidate should be able to spend time on the field, guide supervisors and labour, monitor crop health, maintain proper records, and recommend improvements in irrigation, nutrition, harvesting and pest management.
This is a hands-on role suitable for someone who can take ownership of farm-level agronomy and help the company build a more scientific, disciplined and productive farming system.
Key Responsibilities
1. Crop Planning and Field Management
- The candidate will support planning and execution of crop cultivation activities for Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, including crops such as lemongrass and other suitable agri-based crops.
- This will include planning field preparation, planting schedules, spacing, irrigation, fertilization, harvesting cycles and crop maintenance activities.
2. Crop Monitoring and Advisory
- The candidate will regularly inspect fields and monitor crop growth, plant health, pest issues, disease symptoms, water stress, nutrient deficiency and weed pressure.
- Based on field observations, the candidate will provide practical recommendations to the farm team for corrective action.
3. Soil Health and Nutrition Management
- The candidate will assist in improving soil health through suitable agronomic practices, organic inputs, soil testing, composting, nutrient planning and sustainable farming methods.
- The candidate should be able to recommend crop-wise nutrient schedules and help ensure that inputs are used properly and effectively.
4. Irrigation and Water Management
- The candidate will monitor irrigation practices and guide the farm team on proper water usage, irrigation frequency, drainage, water stress management and field-level water efficiency.
- The candidate should be able to identify irrigation-related issues and suggest practical solutions suitable for farm conditions.
5. Pest, Disease and Weed Management
- The candidate will identify pest, disease and weed-related issues and recommend timely preventive or corrective measures.
- Preference will be given to candidates who understand sustainable, organic or low-chemical approaches to crop protection.
6. Harvesting and Biomass Quality
- The candidate will help decide the right harvesting stage, harvesting method and biomass handling process to improve crop quality and processing efficiency.
- For crops such as lemongrass, the candidate should support proper harvest planning to ensure better biomass yield and essential oil output.
7. Farm Records and Reporting
- The candidate will maintain proper farm-level records, including crop activity records, input usage, irrigation records, labour activity, field observations, pest reports, harvest data and yield records.
- The candidate will be expected to share regular updates with the management in a clear and organized manner.
8. Labour and Field Team Guidance
- The candidate will guide farm supervisors, labour teams and field staff on correct agricultural practices.
- The role requires someone who can communicate clearly with ground-level workers and ensure that farming instructions are actually implemented on the field.
9. Trial Plots and Crop Improvement
- The candidate may be required to support field trials, new crop experiments, improved planting methods, yield improvement practices and data collection for better farm decision-making.
- The candidate should be curious, observant and willing to test practical improvements in farm operations.
10. Coordination with Management
- The candidate will work closely with the management, farm supervisors and plant team to align crop production with processing requirements.
- The role will also include coordination for farm visits, field inspections, photographs, documentation and operational updates whenever required.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
- 2 to 5 years of experience in agriculture, agronomy, farm management, crop advisory or plantation operations.
- Educational background in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Soil Science, Plant Pathology or a related field.
- Practical field experience and willingness to work directly on farms.
- Knowledge of crop planning, irrigation, nutrition, pest management and harvesting.
- Experience with Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, lemongrass, horticulture crops or plantation crops will be preferred.
- Basic understanding of soil health, organic farming, regenerative agriculture or sustainable farming practices will be an advantage.
- Ability to maintain farm records, reports and field observations properly.
- Good coordination skills with farm supervisors, labour teams and management.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel, WhatsApp reporting, email and digital documentation.
- Good communication skills in Marathi and Hindi. Basic English will be preferred.
- Willingness to work at Ravalgaon, Taluka Malegaon, District Nashik.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who is practical, disciplined and genuinely interested in improving farm productivity.
The ideal candidate should not be limited to giving theoretical advice. The person should be willing to walk the fields, observe crop conditions closely, guide workers, maintain records and take responsibility for improving farm outcomes.
This role is best suited for someone who can combine agricultural knowledge with ground-level execution.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
