Role Summary
The Restaurant Captain is responsible for leading the service team, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, maintaining high service standards, and supporting smooth day-to-day restaurant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and ensure a warm, professional dining experience.
- Supervise and coordinate waiters/waitresses during service.
- Assign tables and manage seating efficiently.
- Take and confirm customer orders accurately.
- Ensure food and beverages are served promptly and professionally.
- Handle guest feedback and resolve complaints courteously.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the dining area.
- Train, motivate, and guide service staff.
- Coordinate with the kitchen for smooth order execution.
- Monitor service quality and ensure SOPs are followed.
- Assist in daily opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure hygiene, food safety, and grooming standards are maintained.
- Support billing and payment processes when required.
- Promote teamwork and maintain a positive work environment.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience as a Restaurant Captain or Senior Steward.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of restaurant service standards and customer handling.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments.
- Basic English communication (Hindi/Kannada/Malayalam is an advantage).
- Flexible to work weekends and shifts.
