Job Title: Legal Officer – Real Estate
Location: Mysore
Job Summary: The Legal Officer oversees the legal aspects of real estate transactions, including verifying documentation, ensuring compliance with state-specific property laws, and mitigating legal risks associated with property dealings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document Verification: Review property documents, titles, and agreements to ensure compliance with Indian legal standards.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate real estate contracts, including purchase agreements and leases.
- Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence on property transactions to identify and mitigate legal risks, focusing on Karnataka's property laws and regulations.
- Legal Compliance: Ensure all real estate transactions comply with local, state, and federal property laws, with particular attention to Karnataka's legal requirements.
- Dispute Resolution: Manage and resolve legal disputes related to property matters, including liaising with external legal counsel when necessary.
- Advisory Role: Provide legal advice to the management team on property acquisitions, sales, leasing, and development projects.
- Regulatory Liaison: Coordinate with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary legal and regulatory approvals for real estate transactions.
- Policy Development: Develop and update internal policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with legal standards in real estate operations.
Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent; a Master’s degree or specialization in real estate law is advantageous.
· Licensure: Licensed to practice law in Karnataka.
· Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in real estate law, with a proven track record in handling property transactions and legal documentation.
· Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Karnataka's property laws, regulations, and real estate transaction processes.
Skills:
· Proficiency in Kannada and English, both written and spoken.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
· Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in document review.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
· Proficiency in legal research and familiarity with legal databases.
Working Conditions:
· Full-time position; may require occasional travel to property sites or regulatory offices within Karnataka and other parts of the country as per work requirements
