Responsibilities:
Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis of urban trends, population growth, transportation systems, infrastructure, land use patterns, environmental factors, and economic conditions to understand the existing urban landscape.
Master Planning: Develop and create long-term comprehensive plans for urban development, considering factors like land use, zoning regulations, transportation networks, housing, public spaces, and environmental conservation.
Community Engagement: Engage with local communities and stakeholders to gather feedback, identify their needs, and ensure that urban planning decisions reflect the interests and aspirations of the people who live and work in the area.
Sustainability and Environmental Considerations: Integrate sustainable practices and environmental considerations into urban planning strategies to minimize the impact of development on the ecosystem and promote eco-friendly design and resource management.
Zoning and Development Regulations: Formulate zoning regulations and development codes to guide the use and development of land, ensuring that new projects adhere to the overall vision and goals of the urban plan.
Transportation Planning: Collaborate with transportation engineers and specialists to design efficient and accessible transportation networks, which may include roads, public transit, bicycle lanes, and pedestrian-friendly pathways.
Economic Development: Promote economic development by identifying opportunities for new businesses, commercial areas, and industrial zones that align with the city's economic objectives.
Urban Revitalization: Develop plans to revitalize and rehabilitate deteriorating neighborhoods or urban areas, fostering social equity and economic growth.
Data Management and GIS: Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other data management tools to analyze spatial data, visualize planning scenarios, and present data- driven solutions.
Policy Recommendations: Provide recommendations to local governments and other stakeholders based on research, analysis, and community input, guiding decision-making processes to create sustainable and equitable urban environments.
