Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in the fabrication industry. The candidate will be responsible for inspecting fabricated components, ensuring compliance with quality standards, reviewing drawings, and maintaining quality documentation throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect fabricated components and assemblies as per engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Perform dimensional inspections using measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and measuring tapes.
- Verify welding quality through visual inspection and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Monitor in-process and final inspections to ensure product quality.
- Identify non-conforming products and coordinate corrective and preventive actions with the production team.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, quality records, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, ISO standards, and internal quality procedures.
- Coordinate with production, design, and project teams to resolve quality-related issues.
- Support customer inspections and third-party inspections whenever required.
- Ensure proper handling and calibration of inspection instruments.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, welding, and engineering drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and GD&T concepts.
- Hands-on experience with inspection and measuring instruments.
- Good understanding of quality control procedures and documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems is preferred.
Qualification
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience
- 3–5 years of relevant experience as a Quality Inspector in a fabrication or engineering manufacturing company.
Preferred Candidate
- Experience in heavy fabrication, steel structures, pressure vessels, or industrial equipment manufacturing.
- Immediate joiners or candidates with short notice periods will be preferred.
