Job description:
1. Operations Management
- Lead daily operations of CNC/VMC machining, fabrication, and assembly.
- Ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines are met.
- Optimize machine utilization and manpower productivity.
2. Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement business strategies to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Drive capacity planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Identify opportunities for expansion, automation, and new technologies.
3. Production & Process Excellence
- Implement lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor KPIs such as OEE, cycle time, rejection rates, and downtime.
- Improve process capability and reduce scrap/rework.
4. Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with ISO/industry quality standards.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction through consistent product quality.
5. Financial Management
- Control operational costs, budgets, and capital expenditure.
- Improve margins through efficiency and waste reduction.
- Review P&L performance of the division.
6. Maintenance & Asset Management
- Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of machines.
- Ensure minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
7. Team Leadership & HR
- Lead, mentor, and develop department heads and supervisors.
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability and safety.
- Handle workforce planning, training, and performance management.
8. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and workplace standards.
- Promote a zero-accident culture and conduct safety audits.
9. Customer & Vendor Management
- Interface with key customers for technical and delivery commitments.
- Manage vendor development and procurement coordination.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, and manufacturing processes
- Leadership and people management skills
- Financial acumen (budgeting, cost control, P&L)
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 12–20+ years of experience in machining/manufacturing, with 5+ years in leadership role
