Role Overview
The Sales Manager – Defence (Export) will be responsible for delivering near-term revenue within 12 months while simultaneously building a large, multi-year global defence order book.
This role requires balancing short-cycle RFQ conversions with long-cycle defence program pursuits across US, European, Israeli, and allied defence markets. The position demands strong commercial ownership, export defence exposure, and deep understanding of manufacturing-led defence sales.
Key Objectives & Success Metrics
- Deliver approximately ₹35 Cr revenue realization within 12 months
- Build and sustain a ₹1,000–1,500 Cr global defence order book extending beyond 12 months
- Convert defence RFQs into firm Purchase Orders while positioning early in long-cycle programs
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage relationships with global defence OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers
- Own defence RFQs end-to-end: RFQ evaluation, proposal preparation, pricing, negotiation, and PO closure
- Drive new export defence business across US, Europe, Israel, and allied markets
- Position Unimech early in defence programs to secure long-term, platform-based opportunities
- Build and manage long-cycle defence pipelines alongside short-term RFQ wins
- Ensure pricing discipline, margin protection, and contractual risk management
- Work closely with engineering, quality, compliance, and manufacturing teams to ensure feasibility and execution readiness
- Support defence customer audits, quality requirements, and compliance expectations
Candidate Profile
- 10–18 years of experience in defence or aerospace manufacturing sales
- Mandatory exposure to export defence markets (US / Europe / Israel / allied nations)
- Proven track record of closing defence Purchase Orders (onset business, not offset-only roles)
- Strong understanding of precision machining, tolerances, and manufacturability discussions
- Working knowledge of defence quality standards (AS9100, audits, FAI processes, customer compliance)
- Experience in margin-disciplined manufacturing organisations preferred
- Ability to manage long sales cycles while delivering short-term revenue

Pay: ₹333,333.00 - ₹583,333.00 per month

- Have you directly handled export defence customers in any of the following markets?
