Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer with 1–2 years of experience to join our EV Charger Manufacturing team. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical components and enclosures for EV charging products while ensuring quality, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop mechanical parts, assemblies, and enclosures for EV charging stations.
* Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and BOMs using CAD software.
* Conduct design validation, tolerance analysis, and design reviews.
* Collaborate with Electrical, Embedded, Production, and Quality teams during product development.
* Support prototype development, testing, and product improvements.
* Coordinate with vendors for fabrication, tooling, and material selection.
* Ensure designs meet safety, reliability, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
* Resolve design-related manufacturing and assembly issues.
* Participate in product cost reduction and value engineering activities.
* Maintain engineering documentation and revision control.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
* 1–2 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in electrical equipment, electronics enclosure, EV, or manufacturing industries.
* Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or CATIA.
* Knowledge of sheet metal design, plastic components, fabrication processes, and manufacturing techniques.
* Understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and DFM/DFA principles.
* Familiarity with product testing and validation processes.
Preferred Skills
* Experience in designing enclosures for electrical/electronic products.
* Knowledge of thermal management and IP-rated enclosure design.
* Understanding of EV charging systems and related standards is an added advantage.
* Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
