Position Summary
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Junior Architect to join our design team. In this role, you will support senior architects and project managers through all phases of design, from initial schematic concepts to final construction documentation. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to develop their technical skills, gain licensure hours (AXP), and contribute to meaningful projects in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Support: Assist in the development of design concepts, 3D models, and architectural renderings.
- Technical Documentation: Produce detailed floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details using Revit or AutoCAD.
- Project Coordination: Help coordinate architectural drawings with structural, MEP, and civil engineering consultants.
- Research: Conduct research on building codes, zoning bylaws, and sustainable material specifications.
- Site Visits: Attend site meetings and perform field measurements or observations to ensure construction aligns with design intent.
- Presentation Prep: Prepare boards, digital presentations, and physical models for client meetings and municipal reviews.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Professional degree in Architecture B.Arch from an accredited institution.
- Software Proficiency:
- Expertise in AutoCAD.
- Experience with 3D modeling tools (Rhino, SketchUp).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).
- Familiarity with rendering software (Enscape, V-Ray, or Lumion) is a plus.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of building systems, construction methods, and ADA/accessibility requirements.
- Soft Skills: Strong graphic communication, a "growth mindset," and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
