Job Summary
The Production Planning Manager oversees the end-to-end production cycle, coordinating demand forecasting with actual manufacturing capacity. They are responsible for creating master schedules, managing inventory, and leading a team of planners to optimize resource utilization. Key Responsibilities
Production Scheduling: Develop and implement master production plans based on customer demand and market forecasts.
Inventory & Material Control: Monitor raw material levels and ensure timely procurement to avoid production bottlenecks or stockouts.
Capacity Planning: Assess labor, machinery, and workspace availability to maximize throughput while minimizing idle time.
Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and implement Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies to reduce costs and waste.
KPI Management: Track and report on key performance indicators such as On-Time Delivery Rate, Cycle Time, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Cross-Functional Liaison: Coordinate daily with Sales, Procurement, Logistics, and Quality Assurance to align production with business goals Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Operations, Supply Chain, or Industrial Engineering.
Experience: Typically 5+ years in production planning or manufacturing management.
Technical Proficiency: Expertise in ERP systems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, complex problem-solving, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
