- AC/DC Circuit Mastery: Understanding the distinct behaviors of direct current (DC) generated by panels and alternating current (AC) used by the grid.
- Electrical Tools: Mastery of digital multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation resistance testers (megohmmeter).
- Reading Schematics: Interpreting complex single-line diagrams (SLDs) and electrical schematics to locate faults.
- Component Diagnostics: Testing and identifying issues within inverters, transformers, combiner boxes, and switchgears.
2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- IV Curve Tracing: Measuring the current-voltage relationship of strings to spot degradation or underperformance.
- Thermal Imaging: Operating infrared cameras to identify localized hot spots or loose connections on panels and wiring.
- Inverter Preventive Care: Cleaning filters, verifying torque settings on electrical terminals, and updating firmware.
- Panel & Site Upkeep: Performing basic cleaning protocols and supervising vegetation or drainage control.
