A drone industry pilot is responsible for operating drones for commercial, industrial, and governmental applications while ensuring safety, compliance, and mission success.
The role involves pre-flight planning, equipment inspection, and airspace assessment. Drone pilots capture aerial imagery and data for industries including construction, agriculture, infrastructure inspection, surveying, and emergency response.
They must be skilled in-flight controls, navigation systems, GPS technology, and data collection tools, while also analyzing weather conditions and mitigating operational risks.
In addition to flying, pilots often process and deliver collected data, maintain flight logs, perform routine maintenance, and troubleshoot technical issues.
Strong attention to detail, spatial awareness, technical proficiency, and knowledge of aviation safety standards are essential, along with certifications such as a Remote Pilot Certificate where required.
Minimum 1–3 years of experience in industrial drone operations.
Willingness to travel to project sites.
