Role Summary
An Automation Engineer designs, develops, and maintains automated solutions to improve software quality, operational efficiency, and business processes. They work closely with development, testing, and operations teams to reduce manual effort, increase reliability, and accelerate delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks and scripts for testing and business processes.

Create and execute automated test cases for web, API, mobile, and desktop applications.

Integrate automation solutions into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.

Analyze requirements and identify opportunities for automation.

Monitor automation execution results and troubleshoot failures.

Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure quality standards are met.

Perform regression, functional, integration, and end-to-end testing.

Develop reusable components and best practices for automation.

Generate test reports, metrics, and quality dashboards.

Support production releases and validate deployments.
Required Skills

Strong programming/scripting knowledge in Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, or PowerShell.

Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, UFT, or Robot Framework.

Knowledge of API testing tools like Postman and Rest Assured.

Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.

Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
