JOB PURPOSE
The Assistant Manager/Manager - Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will support the business in financial planning, forecasting, analysis, and performance management. The role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial modelling, and an ability to translate data into clear insights for decision-making. The individual will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Editorial, Operations, and Finance teams to drive accuracy, discipline, and transparency across business planning processes
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support annual operating plan (AOP), quarterly forecasts, and monthly outlooks.
- Prepare revenue, cost, profitability, and cash flow projections.
- Work with business stakeholders to validate assumptions and ensure alignment with financial goals.
- Maintain financial models and continuously improve forecasting accuracy.
- Business Performance Reporting
- Track performance against budgets, forecasts, and KPIs.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly MIS with insights on business performance.
- Conduct variance analysis and identify key drivers of revenue and cost movements.
- Highlight risks, opportunities, and improvement areas for business leaders.
- Strategic & Commercial Analysis
- Support business cases, pricing decisions, product profitability, and ROI analysis.
- Analyse market trends, customer segments, competition, and product performance.
- Provide analytical support for new initiatives, launches, or digital projects.
- Management Reporting & Presentations
- Prepare high-quality PowerPoint decks for management reviews and global reporting.
- Build automated reports and dashboards in Power BI to improve data visibility.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial and operational reports.
- Systems & Process Excellence
- Work with SAP for data extraction, validation, and reporting.
- Support process automation, standardisation, and enhancement of FP&A workflows.
- Ensure strong data hygiene and internal controls in financial planning processes.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong financial modelling and Excel capabilities.
- Working knowledge of Power BI; dashboarding experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of SAP (FI/CO).
- Familiarity with AI/automation tools for FP&A workflows will be an advantage.
- Solid grounding in accounting fundamentals and financial statements.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Qualification:
- MBA (Finance) from reputed college or CA
Preferred Background
- 5–8 years of experience in FP&A, Business Finance, or similar roles.
- Experience in publishing, education, digital content, or media organisations preferred.
- Exposure to matrix or global environments is an advantage.
