Job Title: Senior Punjabi Teacher

Job Summary
Dalhousie Public School, New Chandigarh Campus, invites applications from highly experienced and passionate educators for the position of Punjabi Teacher. The candidate will be responsible for teaching Punjabi language and literature, maintaining high academic standards, mentoring junior teachers, contributing to curriculum planning and departmental development, and supporting students in a residential boarding environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Teach Punjabi language and literature across middle and senior school grades.
· Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum objectives.
· Assess student performance through regular evaluations and provide timely feedback.
· Foster students' appreciation of Punjabi language, culture, and heritage.
· Plan and organize literary activities, debates, cultural events, and language enrichment programs.
· Prepare students for board examinations and other academic assessments.
· Integrate technology and innovative teaching methodologies into classroom instruction.
· Maintain academic records, reports, and documentation as required by the school.
Departmental Responsibilities
· Assist in the planning, implementation, and review of the Punjabi curriculum.
· Mentor and support junior faculty members within the department.
· Coordinate departmental meetings, activities, and academic initiatives.
· Ensure consistency in teaching standards, assessments, and learning outcomes.
· Contribute to teacher training, professional development, and best practices.
· Work closely with school leadership on academic planning and quality enhancement initiatives.
Boarding School Responsibilities
· Support the holistic development and well-being of boarders beyond the classroom.
· Participate in evening prep, academic mentoring, and enrichment activities as required.
· Work closely with boarding staff, house parents, and counsellors to monitor student progress and welfare.
· Contribute to pastoral care, character building, and the overall boarding culture of the school.
· Assist in organizing residential school events, cultural programmes, excursions, and weekend activities.
· Act as a role model, maintaining high standards of discipline, conduct, and student engagement.
Qualifications & Experience
· Master's Degree in Punjabi with B.Ed. (M.Ed. preferred).
· Minimum 8–10 years of teaching experience in reputed CBSE/ICSE residential or day-boarding schools.
· Prior experience in a boarding school setup is mandatory.
· Proven experience in handling middle and senior school classes.
· Excellent command over spoken and written Punjabi.
· Good communication in English and Punjabi is must.
· Experience in curriculum development, academic coordination, or departmental leadership will be preferred.

Compensation
