Bus Maintenance Service Engineer
We are seeking a proactive and technical Bus Maintenance Service Engineer to manage the health, safety, and performance of our public transport/commercial bus fleet. In this role, you will lead workshop operations, schedule routine inspections, and troubleshoot high-level mechanical, electrical, and electronic component failures. Your ultimate goal is to minimize fleet downtime while upholding strict transport safety compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot complex engine, transmission, braking, HVAC, and pneumatic system faults using advanced automotive scanners.
· Electrical & EV Systems: Inspect and repair vehicle wiring, GPS tracking units, digital route boards, and charging systems (for Electric/EV buses).
· Preventive Maintenance: Plan and track scheduled services like oil changes, brake updates, and tire alignments to avert active breakdown incidents.
· Team Supervision: Allocate daily workloads to technicians and electricians while providing clear technical guidance on complex fixes.
· Data Documentation: Maintain comprehensive service records, update internal job cards, and draft reports on fleet health or parts usage.
· Breakdown Response: Coordinate emergency roadside assistance or depot-level fixes for unscheduled vehicle failures.
· Safety Adherence: Enforce rigorous workshop safety rules, toxic waste disposal protocols, and high-voltage safety procedures if handling EV buses.
Required Technical Skills
· Vehicle Diagnostics: Mastery of automotive scan tools, oscilloscopes, and software systems.
· Blueprint Reading: Competence in reading mechanical blueprints and vehicle electrical schematics.
· Systems Expertise: Deep knowledge of heavy-duty diesel engines, hydraulics, air brakes, and HVAC.
· Inventory Control: Ability to source precise automotive parts and manage workshop spare stocks.
· CMMS Software: Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems to track repair workflows.
Experience & Qualifications
· Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Automobile, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
· Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on experience working with commercial buses, trucks, or heavy fleet maintenance.
· Certifications: Relevant heavy vehicle technical certifications or Electric Vehicle (EV) safety training are highly valued.
· Work Logistics: Physical capacity to manage manual workshop labor, shift flexibility (including occasional night duties), and a valid heavy commercial driving license.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
