We are looking for a Technical Sales Executive who understands that in the world of packaging and print, the finish is everything. You aren’t just selling a liquid in a drum; you’re selling protection, aesthetics, and high-speed performance.With 3 to 4 years of experience under your belt, you’ve moved past the "cold calling" jitters and into the realm of consultative selling. You know how to talk shop with pressroom managers and negotiate value with procurement heads. If you can explain why a UV coating is yellowing or why a water-based varnish isn’t scuff-resistant—and then close the deal to fix it—you’re who we’re looking for.
Key Responsibilities
Drive Revenue Growth: Identify and acquire new business opportunities within the commercial printing, folding carton, and flexible packaging sectors.Technical Consultation: Conduct on-site technical trials. You’ll be responsible for dialing in the right OPV (Water-based, UV, LED-UV, or Specialty) based on the substrate and the client's end-use requirements.
Troubleshooting: Act as the first line of defense for technical issues. Whether it's foaming, COF (Coefficient of Friction) inconsistencies, or adhesion failures, you’ll provide the "on-the-press" solutions.
Relationship Management: Manage a portfolio of existing accounts, ensuring high retention rates through regular technical audits and performance reviews.Market Intelligence: Keep a pulse on industry trends (like the shift toward sustainable/bio-based coatings) and provide feedback to the R&D team for product development.
What You Bring to the TableThe Experience: 3–4 years of proven success in technical sales, specifically within Over Print Varnishes (OPV), printing inks, or industrial coatings.
Technical Literacy: A solid grasp of various printing processes (Flexo, Offset, Gravure) and how different varnishes interact with inks and substrates.The "Hustle": A track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets. You’re comfortable navigating long sales cycles and high-stakes trials.
Problem-Solving Mindset: You enjoy the "detective work" of finding out why a coating isn't performing and have the patience to see a trial through to success.Communication: The ability to translate complex chemical specifications into "bottom-line" benefits for the customer.
Required QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Printing Technology, or a related field. (Equivalent industry experience will also be considered).
Travel: Willingness to travel 100% of the time to visit client sites and manufacturing facilities.
Tools: Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and the standard Microsoft Office suite.
