Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Draftsman with 2–5 years of experience in preparing electrical drawings for building construction projects. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in drafting electrical layouts, power distribution, lighting, and related systems using AutoCAD while ensuring compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed electrical shop drawings, layouts, and construction drawings using AutoCAD.
- Draft lighting, power, small power, earthing, lightning protection, and cable routing layouts.
- Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and electrical schematic drawings.
- Coordinate with Electrical Engineers, Architects, Structural Engineers, and other MEP disciplines to resolve design clashes.
- Revise drawings based on client comments and site requirements.
- Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards.
- Maintain proper documentation and drawing revision records.
- Support project teams with timely submission of drawings and updates.
Requirements
- Diploma or ITI in Electrical Engineering, Draftsmanship, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience as an Electrical Draftsman in MEP or building construction projects.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Good understanding of electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, earthing, and fire alarm layouts.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Experience with Revit MEP will be an added advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of MEP coordination.
- Understanding of electrical drafting standards and construction practices.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work within project deadlines.
- Team player with a proactive approach.
