A Primary Math Teacher develops foundational numeracy, problem-solving, and logical skills in young learners (Classes I-V). Responsibilities include designing engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans, utilizing experiential learning tools, assessing student progress, and maintaining active communication with parents.
Key Responsibilities
- Lesson Planning: Develop and execute creative, interactive daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards (such as CBSE or state boards).
- Instruction: Explain fundamental mathematical concepts using physical manipulatives, visual aids, and real-life examples.
- Assessment: Create, administer, and grade tests, quizzes, and assignments to track student mastery.
- Differentiation: Identify learning gaps and implement individualized instruction or remedial support for students struggling with math.
- Parent Communication: Conduct regular parent-teacher meetings to discuss student progress, behavior, and areas for improvement.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment that fosters a love for the subject.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Elementary Education. A B.Ed. or relevant teaching certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of prior teaching experience at the elementary or primary level.
- Skills: Strong communication, patience, creativity, and the ability to simplify complex numbers for young minds.
